Rama First Nation Minor Bantam Terriers win Richmond Hill Early Bird Tournament Championship
The Rama First Nation Minor Bantam Terriers started their season with an exclamation mark by taking the Richmond Hill Early Bird Minor Bantam title. The team opened the tournament with a 5-1 thrashing of Stoney Creek Jr. Warriors as goalie Logan Matthews turned aside all but one shot. Zac Bell led the way a hat trick and an assist and Scott Adams had three assists. Jared Dewey had a goal and assist, Gray Sleep Carnahan had the other goal and assists went to Connor White (2), Devon Read and Jordan Burnett.

In game two against Credit Valley Wolves, the Terriers leaned heavily on goalie Nick Raseta to squeeze out a 1-1 tie. Ethan Sleep had the only goal assisted by Jacob Dewey and Burnett.

The Terriers went undefeated in the round robin as they defeated the Whitby Wildcats White 5 – 2 in a very physical game. Tyler Gysbers, Bell, White, Jared Dewey, and McDonald each potted a goal. Adams had another 3 assists. Jacob Dewy had the other assist. Matthews got the win in net.

In the semi-finals, the Terriers battled the Owen Sound Attack. With a berth in the finals on the line, Nick Raseta backstopped the team to a thrilling 3-2 victory on goals by McDonald, Jacob Dewey and Sleep. Brodie Tracey, Chris Brown and McDonald chipped in with assists. 
 
In the tournament finals in front of a large boisterous crowd, the Terriers lined up against the Kinston Canadians who had not surrendered a goal in four games on the way to the finals. Well matched were the Terriers, the highest scoring team in the tournament. It was a very close game and the Terriers were short-handed for all but 5 seconds of the last period and were down to three skaters for the last 43 seconds. With Matthews holding firm between the pipes the Terriers won the game and tournament 3-2.Bell led the way with two goals along with a single from Sleep. White (2), Jared Dewey, and Adams had assists. Defencemen Carson Keddy and Owen Downer played very well defensively throughout the tournament and were an important part of a top notch penalty killing effort by the Terriers.
