The Mid Ontario Disposal Orillia Terriers Peewee A team faced three strong competitors this week and walked away with 4 of out a possible 6 points.
In the first game, the Terriers took on a Bradford Bulldog team that continued to push the Terriers from the opening whistle to the end of game buzzer. In the end, the Terriers outscored the Bulldogs by a score of 4-1. Although not in the scoresheet, the strong play of Liam McDonald and Nolan MacNeal in the defensive zone kept the Bulldogs at bay. Hitting the scoresheet for the Terriers were Jesse Ashkewe (1g), Devin Baxter (1g), Will Mullen (1g), Kooper Tucci (1g, 1a), Isabela Fleguel (1a), Carson Bussieres (1a), Owen Vandusen (1a) and Cole Rasmussen (1a). The following night, the Terriers faced the Richmond Hill Stars. With his first shut-out win as a Terrier, Coulter Taylor kept the Stars off the scoresheet while Mullen (2g), Ashkewe (1g), and Baxter (1g) netted the 4 Terriers Goals with assists going to Meguire Naughton (2a), Bradley Adams (2a), Bussieres (1a) and Rasmussen (1a). In the third game, the Terriers met a potent Innisfil Winterhawks offense who managed to squeeze out a 4-2 victory over the Terriers despite the home teams’ strong two-way play. Naughton lead the team with a goal and an assist while Bussieres added a goal and McDonald an assist.
