Orillia Terriers Major Peewee A Take home Gold at Silver Stick
The Mid Ontario Disposals Major Peewee A Orillia Terriers captured Gold in the Silver Stick Championship game this past weekend outscoring their opponents 22-5 in the process.

The tournament was a full team effort as each player contributed not only on the scoresheet but on the ice, playing a complete game in all three zones. In their first match of the tournament, the Terriers faced the Kapuskasing Ice Hogs and skated to a 4-1 win. They then faced the West Nippissing Sting who were a physical team and battled hard in the corners, challenging the Terriers throughout a 3-3 draw. The following match, the Terriers played the Nickel City Snipers. The Terriers took advantage of their speed over the Snipers, winning the game 4-0 and earning a bye to the Semi Finals where they faced the Snipers once more. The Terriers turned up the intensity level one more notch and earned a berth in the Championship game with a convincing 9-1 victory over the Snipers. In the final game, the Terriers met the Ice Hogs again and kept the pressure on from beginning to end. The final score was 2-0 for the Terriers, capturing the Silver Stick banner and a spot in the International Silver Stick tournament in January. Each Terrier played a part in this victory and should all be proud of their accomplishment. The players include: Liam McDonald (1g), Jack Marwick (3a), Meguire Naughton (5g, 2a), Cole Rasmussen (3g), Isabela Fleguel (2a), Nolan MacNeal (1g, 1a), Bradley Adams (1a), Jesse Ashkewe (2g), Kooper Tucci (2g, 2a), Will Mullen (2g, 1a), Carson Bussieres (2g, 2a), Aiden Colebrook (1a), Devin Baxter (5g, 8a), Owen Vandusen (2a). Goaltenders Coulter Taylor and Teddy McCollum-Kuntz were brick walls with Taylor earning 2 shut outs during the weekend. Individual honours went to Rasmussen, Baxter, Ashkewe, Naughton and Bussieres as Game MVPS and to Baxter as the Tournament MVP.
