Peewee AE Terriers off to a strong start!
The Jim Wilson Chevrolet Peewee AE Terriers opened up their York Simcoe Minor Hockey League season Sept. 20 with a 3-1 win at home against the Markham Waxers.  Lucas Mackey was solid in net to secure the victory turning away 21 shots.

The Terriers then headed to Oro for an exhibition game Sept. 24.  After a slow start the Terriers found themselves down 4-1 midway through the second period, but put up 5 unanswered goals to defeat the Thunder 6-4.

On Sept. 25 the Terriers returned to league play to face the first place Aurora Tigers (4-0-0) in Aurora.  It was a very fast paced game with lots of great action... in the end the Tigers would come out on top with a narrow 3-2 victory.  Colby Small was stellar in net making 24 saves.

On Sept. 27 the Terriers remained on the road to face the TNT Tornadoes, another of the leagues top teams who were also undefeated in league play.  The Terriers played great hockey in building a 4-1 lead midway through the second period.  TNT would storm back to tie the game 4-4 in the 3rd.  With 4 mins left Cole Silverthorn would put the Terriers on top once again but a late TNT goal with 35 seconds remaining would tie up the game 5-5 and that is how it ended.

On Sept. 30 the Terriers faced off against the Richmond Hill Stars at Rotary Place.  The Terriers added 2 goals in the 1st, 2 more in the 2nd and 4 in the third cruising to an 8-1 victory.  Colby Small earned the victory in net.

On the season the team has received great efforts from all players.  Offensive contributions have come from Zach Courtney (5g, 7a), Colton Woolhouse (7g), Owen Buckland (2g, 5a), Owenn Banks (4g, 3a), Kieran McConaghy (2g, 3a), Cole Silverthorn (1g, 3a), Aiden Madigan (1g, 2a), Noah Simpson (2g), Marco D'Agnillo (1g, 1a), Dylan Arnold (1g, 1a), Zander Thurston (1a), Thomas West (1a) and Jace Gilbert (1a).   Defensively the group of Jonah Teahen, Kailem McDonald, West, Gilbert, Arnold and D'Agnillo have been solid on the blueline.

The team takes to the ice tonight at Rotary Place in an exhibition tilt against the Wasaga Beach Stars at 7:30 before heading to Innisfil on Monday night to face the Winterhawks.
