Peewee AE Terriers Bring Home the Challenge Cup!
Orillia’s Jim Wilson’s Chevrolet Peewee AE Terriers went 4-0-1 to win the championship at the Challenge Cup Tournament in Caledonia.  The Terriers faced off against the host team, beating Caledonia Thunder 2-1.  Cameron Dooley started off the scoring with an assist from Tommy Roop and Liam Askew netted the game winner.

In Game 2, the Terriers held the Merritton Bulldogs to a tie.  Liam Askew scored the only goal with assists going to Aiden Shilling and Ty Colebrook.   Jaxon Holmes stood his ground in net with some amazing saves. Game 3 against the Petrolia Oilers saw the Terriers powering through to establish a strong plus/minus record with a 7-0 win. The first period saw 3 goals from Levon White, Liam Askew, and Aiden Shilling with assists by Thomas North, Aiden Shilling, and Will Cousineau. Never losing stride, they brought the same energy to the second, with an unassisted goal by Cameron Dooley. Thomas North and Aiden Shilling took 2 goals and Carter Mitchell landed one with 1 second remaining.     Assists went to McKenzie Lovering, Jacob Dunn, Levon White, and Liam Askew.   Lovering and Ethan Cright, two new players coming from Coldwater, showed some great on ice chemistry.  Securing their position in the finals in game 4, the Terriers beat the Glanbrook Rangers 4-1.  Liam Askew, Aiden Shilling, Cameron Dooley, and Jacob Dunn scored for the team with support from Isaac Locker, Tyler Colebrook, Liam Askew, and Levon White. In the final, Will Whaley was a force to be reckoned with between the pipes. With his team, he shot down the Dorchester Dragons who came to the finals with 4 wins and 17 goals.  Jacob Dunn netted the winning goal with a breakaway and Will Cousineau scored the 16th and final goal of the tournament with assists from Carter Mitchell and Aiden Shilling.  Lexon Strong locked things down in the final period by ensuring their biggest offensive threat didn’t get near the net. Every player had a role in this tournament and it showed in the results. The players and parents had fun in and out of the arenas, developing further as a cohesive team.
