The Orillia Terriers Rama First Nations Minor Bantam
“A” team went undefeated this week in tilts against Newmarket and Aurora.
The Terriers faced off against the Newmarket Redman on home ice, skating away with a 5-3 victory on the strength of balanced scoring. Making the scoresheet were Cole Rasmussen (2g), Austin Sawyer (1g, 1a), Thomas Bovett (1g), Owen Buckland (1g), Aaron Zurawski (1a), Liam McDonald (1a), Jesse Ashkewe (1a), Nolan MacNeal (1a), Jayden Murison (1a) and Will Mullen (1a). The Terriers then played a home and home series against the Aurora Tigers who until this point had been undefeated in league play. In the first match in Aurora, both teams exchanged scoring chances but in the end, the game ended in a 0-0 tie. Teddy McCollum-Kuntz was credited with the shutout. In the next game, the Terriers came out flying and hit the scoreboard first. By the time the final buzzer sounded, the Terriers handed the Tigers their first loss this season with a 4-2 win. Scoring for the Terriers were Mullen (2g), Zurawski (2g), Ashkewe (2a), Buckland (1a), and Bovett (1a). Up next for the Terriers is a match against Stouffville-Whitchurch.
