Orillia Minor Hockey announces
The Mike
Dodd Orillia Minor Hockey Foundation.
Mike Dodd was a well-known local news reporter and supporter of minor sports in Orillia. Orillia Minor Hockey was the fortunate recipient of a significant donation from Mike's estate, which in turn has afforded us the chance to establish The Mike Dodd Orillia Minor Hockey Foundation in partnership with
Team Micks.
The
Mike Dodd Orillia Minor Hockey Foundation was established in order to benefit local youth by reducing the cost of playing hockey through a needs-based award. Beginning next season at least 2 local players will be able to apply to the Foundation to obtain assistance with fees. We hope that as the Foundation becomes more established, we can grow the number of youth who can benefit from Mike's generosity and the key support of
Team Micks, who joined in this initiative to help reduce the financial barrier some families face in playing minor hockey in Orillia.
We would also like to invite others to join us in increasing the Foundation’s endowment. Any amount is accepted and it will go solely to benefit Orillia’s youth, hockey, and physical health.
