Attention "NEW" Player's Parents

The 'Respect in Hockey' initiative will require all Team Officials On-ice Volunteers, On-Ice Officials and Parents to take the appropriate 'Respect' education.  At least one parent or guardian of each player registered in minor hockey in the OMHA will be required to complete the Respect in Sport - Parent Program as a condition of participation.  The one hour online course is a proactive, educational program that empowers parents with the tool to ensure the game is enjoyable and respectful for themselves, their children and all other stakeholders in the game.

Completion of the Respect in Sport 'parent program' for at least one parent/guardian of each family of every registered player under the age of 18 shall be a condition of their eligibility for participation for the 2018-19 season.  The cost for the parent program is $ 12.00 per family.  One parent certified per family and other parent, step parents, grandparents, kids etc. can take the program for free by using certified parent username and password.  Compliance deadline for taking the program is prior to registering the player.  Currently there are no plans for requalification/recertification once you take the program. 

Rationale/explanation of $12.00 fee:
The $12.00 fee for the Respect in Sport – Parent Program includes E-learning Fund Contribution and Administration of the program to Hockey Canada (HCR integration, etc.), promotion of the program and administration, Canadian Red Cross as Curriculum Partners, PayPal/Invoicing Fees, maintenance of the program in both official languages, hosting, platform optimization, content updates (annually), 24x7 bilingual technical support, local user support and registrar training.

If you have taken the Leader Version of Respect in Sport/Speak Out you still must take the Parent Version of Respect in Sport.
