Terriers take York Simcoe Preliminary series over Innisfil
The Winterhawks who finished 12 points ahead of the Terriers in league play would host game #1.  Ryan Lariviere got the Terriers started with a goal early in the first but in a back and forth game the two teams would exchange goals with the Terriers trailing 3-2 heading to the third period.  Two goals in the first 5 minutes by Jonah Teahen and Matt Casselman put the Terriers up 4-3, but Innisfil would once again tie the game with 7 minutes left to play.  A minute later Kieran McConaghy would get the game winner as the Terriers shut down the Innisfil offense to close the game.  Owen Banks picked up 4 points on the night (1g, 3a).  Sam Sheldon would pick up the win in net stopping 20 shots.

In game #2 the Terriers came out flat at home and trail 3-0 through the first period.  The Winterhawks continued to pressure the Terriers throughout the contest and in the end skated to a 6-2 win to tie the series 1-1.  Owen Banks and Tyler Colebrook scored for Orillia in the loss.

With game 3 back in Innisfil the Terriers jumped out to the lead 5 mins into the second period on a goal by Connor Flannery.  Innisfil would tie the game mid-way through the second but a goal late in the second by Kieran McConaghy put the Terriers up 2-1 through two periods.  Andrew Thorn would add an insurance goal with a little over 6 minutes left in the game.  That goal would also turn out to be the game winner as Innisfil would add a goal late but the Terriers held on for a 3-2 victory and a 2 games to one lead in the series.  Sam Sheldon was between the pipes for the victory.

Returning home for game 4 the Terriers would have a chance to close out the series on home ice.  Ayden Bishop opened the scoring for the Terriers midway through the first period.  The Winterhawks responded scoring 5 minutes into the second period to tie the game at 1.  Andrew Thorn would once again put the Terriers on top, but Innisfil tied it up again sending the game to the third period 2-2.  Innisfil came out strong in the third putting up the go ahead goal with 10 mins left and an insurance goal with only 4:51 left in the game.  The Terriers would not go down without a fight and pulled their goalie with 3 mins left in the contest.  The strategy worked perfectly and with the extra man a goal by Matt Casselman got the Terriers to within one with only 1:47 left on the clock.  Then with the goalie out once again the Terriers would talley the tying goal 24 seconds later on a goal by Jonah Teahen sending the game to overtime!  In OT Teahen would blast a shot from just inside the blueline to give the Terriers the 5-4 win and take the series 3 games to 1.  Teahen would get both the game tying and game winning goals while adding an assist on the night.  Colby Small made 25 saves to get the win in net.

In the series the Terriers would get offensive output from the following players...
Owenn Banks (2g, 5a), Matt Casselman (2g, 4a), Kieran McConaghy (2g, 3a), Jonah Teahen (2g, 3a), Ayden Bishop (1g, 2a), Andrew Thorn (2g), Cayden McGinnis (1g, 1a), Ryan Lariviere (1g), Connor Flannery (1g), Tyler Colebrook (1g), Jack Ormsby (1a), Noah Simpson (1a) and Nolin Derstroff (1a).  Great defensive performances were added by Owen Johnston, Peter Conway, Kailem McDonald, Thorn, Banks and Derstroff.

The Terriers will now face the top ranked Barrie Colts (White) and the Richmond Hill Stars in a three team home and home series in the York Simcoe quarter final.
