The Moonstone Mechanical Novice A Terriers are headed to the OMHA Finals against Woolwich after ousting the Innisfil Winterhawks. After a scoreless game 1, the Terriers came out strong in game 2, winning 5-2 on goals by Brock McKay(2), Josh May, Eric Shellswell, and Preston Tryon. Assists went to Hudson Inglis (2), Ronin Black, Shellswell and May.

In second round action of the OMHA playdowns, the Orillia Terriers Novice A team faced off against Simcoe County rival Barrie Colts. Barrie came out strong in game 1 but the Terriers found the score board first, when the puck deflected off a Colts player and into the net. Greydon King was credited with the goal. Hudson Inglis ,Brock Mc Kay and Ronin Black each added a single to increase the lead to 4-0. Barrie did not give up adding a goal of their own late in the second. Eric Shellswell drove to the net to meet a rebound off of Jackson Cook’s shot, and put it uptop on the Colts goalie for a 5-1 lead. Barrie answered back on the next shift and scored the final goal of the game. Terriers took game 1 5-2.

On Saturday, December 16, with a rare hockey free weekend, the Orillia Terriers Moonstone Mechanical Novice A team lent a helping hand to their community. In groups of two, members of the team rang the Kettle Bells for the Salvation Army, hoping to raise money for those in need during the holiday season.

The Novice A Moonstone Mechanical Orillia Terriers claimed their third tournament championship of the season, winning the coveted Sudbury Regional Silver Stick on December 3, 2017. The Terriers opened the tournament with a strong showing against West Nippissing. Josh May opened the scoring midway through the first, Colten Sharland earned the assist. May added another goal in the second, while Eric Shellswell netted 2 in the 4-1 win. Assists went to Ronin Black, Hudson Inglis, Kyson Campbell, Greydon King and Craig Scott.
